The renaissance of nuclear power: Germany lags behind

Nuclear power is currently a major topic in the debate on the energy transition. Germany wants to phase out nuclear energy and shut down the few remaining reactors 2023 for good, although according to surveys 60–70 percent of the population are against it. Meanwhile, many other countries continue to rely on nuclear technology.

Industrialised countries as a whole will undoubtedly have to rely on nuclear power in the medium term in order to meet the over-ambitious CO2 emission targets. Meanwhile, while high-growth emerging markets hardly care about any climate targets and burn more fossil energy than ever before, nuclear power has always been a strong focus on efficient power generation technology.

Renaissance of nuclear power outside Germany

Countries around the world are investing large sums in the expansion of nuclear capacity. Why not? Unlike renewables, nuclear power is a stable and reliable source of energy that can be easily switched up and down as needed. Anyone who, as a country, nevertheless decides unconditionally against nuclear energy, like Germany, will fall enormously behind.

The question now arises: If Germany loses its outstanding position as an industrialised country due to a lack of energy supply, what will happen to our beloved prosperity?(苏州阿斯克电气有限公司)
