250 charging lamps for electric cars already in winter

250 charging lamps for electric cars already in winter. As a pioneer of electric mobility in Germany, this will include Marzahn -Hellersdorf from the end of the year. Then in the district 250 street lights will be converted to charging stations for electric cars. Means in concrete terms: Anyone who has an electric car and a suitable cable can charge their electric current to the lanterns on the side of the road. So far, there are only a large number of cargo lanterns in London. We had already reported on the New Berlin Air Consortium project in January.

In the meantime, there's some new information about the project that I don't want to keep from you. After the first 250 charging points 2020 is added 250 again. Where they stand, the inhabitants should also be able to decide. And: Interested parties can apply for one of the cables used for loading. To get a cable you only need one good reason, as the spokesperson of the project, Alexa Thiele, explains on the phone: either you have an e -car or you plan to get one. You should also live or work in Marzahn -Hellersdorf. The cables are free. Interested? This way, then.

Moreover, the cables are a real technological miracle: they contain a mobile electric meter that registers the amount of electricity that is refuelled in real time and invoices the costs to the power supplier of the cable provider. However, it is not yet known which lanterns are precisely being retrofitted in the district. Even if the parking spaces at the lanterns are reserved only for electric cars or are also open to burners, the district decides at a later date.

But what Thiele already guarantees: "The light will not go out because of the charging lights in the district." Indeed, some residents seem to be concerned. A reader of the newsletter recently wrote to us: "There is a lot of electricity going into Marzahn /Hellersdorf. For example, a VW uses 7kW at the overnight store. This would then be a loose 7 gigawatt only at 1000 lanterns.....Whoever loads his e -Hobel.....at these connecting points loads the e -works quite nicely."

The devil, as often happens, is in the detail here: in fact, it would be 7 -megawatt if 1000 -cars were loaded simultaneously and not Gigawatt, as Thiele says. To classify the figures: 7 gigawatt produces four medium -sized nuclear power plants per hour; 7 megawatt three medium -sized wind turbines. Thiele also refers to the statement of the head of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH in the daytime mirror: He sees no danger for the city's power grid even with 250.000 E -cars in Berlin. In any case, Berlin is still a long way from this figure. Benjamin Reuter
